About

Location

Canyon Vibration is an intimate dance music campout that takes place on a private ranch land in Tygh Valley, Oregon approximately 2 hours east of Portland in Oregon’s high desert. The property has an abundance of car camping and idyllic tent camping spots in the trees alongside a river canyon, where attendees can swim during the day. At night, the canyon’s rock walls are illuminated and a ceiling of lasers descends on a dance floor powered by one of the best sound systems in the pacific northwest.

This event is made possible by our hosts, the Justensen Family, who believe that people gathering on their ranch to enjoy music is “the highest and best use of the property.” We also acknowledge that this ranch land was first inhabited by Native Americans, as evidenced by the pictographs on the property, and understand there is a long and complicated history of ownership over this space. This is a sacred space and we ask that all attendees treat it with respect by leaving no trace behind.

Safety

The kind of liberation we hope people experience at Canyon Vibration can only be experienced with a container of safety. First and foremost, we put a lot of trust into our community to keep people in check and look out for their friends. Y’all have been doing that for years and we’ll expect more of the same this year. However, bad things can still happen, and to minimize the risk of super bad things, we’ve taken the following precautions:

  • Certified EMTs will be running a medical program around the clock, aerial ambulance service available in the worst case scenario.

  • 1 certified security person for every 100 attendees, plus lifeguards at the river

  • Coordination with the local fire department on emergency measures, including onsite fire prevention truck, fire extinguishers and an evacuation plan

  • Hardline stance against flames of any kind.

  • Proactively communicate and require every attendee and staff member to agree to our code of conduct

  • Safety & Wellness Crew available around the clock, prioritizing connection to care with harm reduction principles

  • Safety & Wellness Crew will be identifiable by Safety Vests during the day, and Red Light Up Lanyards at night
