Preparation is key

We consider Canyon Vibration a community event and expect everyone to behave responsibly, courteously and to be self-sufficient. To keep it this way, we must all take the time to understand the expectations and keep our friends in check. Please make sure you and anyone you bought a ticket for reads the following expectations:

Get there safe, leave safe

The event address has been sent ticket holders. It’s a two hour drive to Tygh Valley, so please look for ways to carpool with friends to cut down on car space. Parking passes are $40 cash if you did not already purchase in advance. Do not come or go outside of the explicitly stated gate times (Friday 3pm-9pm, Saturday 1pm-7pm). We have a zero tolerance policy for driving under the influence. Proof of age will be checked on entry and you will be asked to sign a waiver agreeing to terms of the event.

Camping situation

There are two zones to camp in, the trees, and the field.

  • The trees - this zone is walk in only, meaning you'll need to park 150-300 yards away and walk your stuff in. The upshot is that the tree campsites are insanely beautiful and provide shade throughout the day. These sites will be available on a first come first serve basis.

  • The field - There's no shortage of camping in the field, and you'll be able to camp next to your car, or in your car for those who are inclined. The field will get hot, so you may want to consider bringing an EZ-Up for additional shade.

Make sure to bring

Be a good dancefloor citizen

Ask for consent. Only “yes” means yes. It’s okay to say no. Don’t be overly intoxicated. Keep friends in check. Report offenders. Seek assistance from the Safety & Wellness crew, they will be identifiable by Safety Vests during the day, and Red Light Up Lanyards at night.

Tell us if something’s off

If you become aware of something dangerous at our event, such as someone being overly intoxicated or someone acting inappropriately, seek assistance from the the Safety & Wellness crew, they will be identifiable by Safety Vests during the day, and Red Light Up Lanyards at night and they will escalate as necessary.

Not looking for fire vibes

This area of Oregon is arid grassland and is one of the most fire prone areas in the state and August is an extremely dry season. Wildfire danger is high and a very scary and real thing that everyone must take extreme caution to avoid. Please take note of the below fire safety rules and help us enforce them. There are no exceptions.

  1. NO OPEN FLAMES - Camping stoves are not allowed. There will be hot water available for cooking hot food.

  2. NO SMOKING. Includes joints and cigs. This is an e-cig or vape only campsite.

  3. ONLY DRIVE ON MOWED GROUND.  Do not drive through any tall grass.

  4. DO NOT LEAVE YOUR CAR IDLING.  If your car is not in motion, turn it off to prevent grass from catching fire from your engine.

About the food and drink..

Note that while we’re not running a bar this year, we’re excited to have an expanded list of food options:

  • Mexican food truck - Tacos Tumbras will be onsite Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

  • Coffee - Organic drip coffee / espresso drinks (Hot or Iced), organic coconut water, fruit smoothies, matcha and more. Service Saturday and Sunday, plus 24/7 drip coffee.

  • Italian lunch - Available Sat by river stage

  • Tea tent - Adjacent to the river stage

Pack it in, Pack it out

Please be sure to clean up after yourself and leave no trace. There will be garbage cans for our meal service, but otherwise, please bring your own trash bags to pack out your stuff.

Lose yourself in the moment

Wear whatever, dance freely and help others feel comfortable doing the same by not taking photos or videos on the dance floor. We know the lasers are face-meltingly-awesome, but please limit your photography to shots from the periphery. Please no glow sticks or flashy blinky things on the dancefloor.

Prepare for the Heat

Hydrate! We are expecting temperatures of up to 100 degrees, so be sure to incorporate beverages with electrolytes (we have them at harm reduction as well). A great way to stay cool is to jump in the river during the day, so make sure you bring your suit. You can re-up on ice in town during open gate hours at “The Way Station at Tygh Valley” and “Tygh Valley General Store”

Wellness Programming

On Saturday we have Yoga w/ Sunny and Canyon Refuge Circle. Canyon Refuge is an intentional circle with an emphasis on recovery, ritual communication, and meditation. This is for those who may be in recovery, are sober-curious, or are wanting a moment for mindful community connection. All are welcome at 2-3:30pm on Satruday at the back of the main stage. Please be sober while in attendance to the circle.
